  Small Aquarium Room Part 1   One day my wife came home with a 29gal tank, light, filter and stand that she bought at a yard sell. That was it. This was truly the rekindling of my interest in aquariums.

  Small Aquarium Room Part 2  

With eight tanks, Maintenance becomes a problem. Time is the problem. There just isn't enough time to maintain this many tanks with buckets. I have all ready pointed out how I have a drain and water supply in my aquarium room which helps immensely, but there are things I did to help cut down on maintenance time......more

 
         
  Low Light Penetration   What do you do when you have LFS credits? I look for just one more spot to put a new tank. Here is the last spot left in my aquarium room. This 15gal will fit nicely under my 30gal. I plan on using it as a shrimp tank.I have had shrimp but they have sooner or later became live fish food....more  
         
  Accuracy of Test Kits   There has been allot of post about test kits. I have to admit that I have as much trouble with them as any one. Here is two SeaChem kits. PO4 and NO3. I like these kits because I can test several tanks at one time, BUT they give me trouble all the time....more  
         
  When Algae Happens   Well it can happen to anyone. Major out break of algae. What would you do first if this was your tank? How would you go about getting it back in balance? IT seem to be green spot algae on the glass and green hair algae every where else....more

  Small Tank Reactor   I have a 15gal tank that I am trying to get high light to work on (65w cf 9700K) ...... using pressure CO2 with a DIY bubble counter. To solve this problem I needed a filter I could submerge and all so use as a CO2 reactor. This is what I came up with. Duetto 100 submersible power filter.... more  
         
  Surface Scum Removal   I made a surface skimmer that I use when I do water changes. Its easy to make and doesn't cost much. Take two 90s end to end forming U shape. On one end you use your drain hose. ON the other end connect a tee. I made this one out of stuff I had laying around....more
