Micranthemum micranthemoides or Hemianthus micranthemoides:
Baby Tears or Pearl Weed

Light: medium - very high

Growth: fast

Demands: moderate

Pruning: cut the tops and let the rooted parts regrow, or cut and replant.

Water hardness: doesn´t seem to matter

Specials: some say under very high light it grows horizontaly, but I haven't found this to be true.

Propagation: New shoots at rooted parts

Experiences: very easy to shape & prune. I find that if you train this plant to grow horizontal it will stay horizontal with very little timing. It sends out horizontal runners. For a more bush look, plant in a clump and as the runners start to lean over trim them. New shout will grow taller until the plant once again grows vertical. I have had both horizontal and vertical plants growing in the same tank. Don't let this plant get to thick. I will give algae a place to start.

Planting: If you want to build an extremely dense bush, let it grow until it reaches a height of about 4 inchs cut the stems to about 1 inch and replant the cuttings.
